"In Transition" tells the story of the generation that looked peak oil and climate change square in the face, and responded with creativity, compassion and genius. It provides inspiration and motivation to join together and collectively meet the challenges of climate change and peak oil with renewal and hope instead of fear and apathy. In the film you'll see stories of communities creating their own local currencies, setting up their own pubs, planting trees, growing food together, celebrating localness. You'll see neighbours sharing their land with neighbours that have none, local authorities getting behind their local Transition initiatives, schoolchildren making news in 2030, and you'll get a sense of the scale of this emerging movement. It is a story of hope, and it is a call to action, and we think you will like it very much. It is also rather funny in places. We've put the whole movie on the internet for you to watch here and there's more information about it here.
'In Transition' has been shown in communities around the world to enthusiastic audiences, and it is now available as a special edition 2 disc DVD set, beautifully packaged in entirely compostable packaging, featuring the film itself (with subtitles in Deutsch, Espanol, Francais, Italiano, and Nederlands) and an embarrassment of outtakes and extras, with interviews, films about Transition you've been searching high and low for quality copies of, and other gems. It is a must-have for anyone with an interest in this new take on responding to the challenges of the 21st century.
Transition groups can buy bulk copies of the DVD at very good discounts. Being able to make "In Transition 2.0" will depend, in part, on our being able to recoup the expenses of the first one, so do buy copies and tell people about the film! The license for the movie allows you to use it for public screenings wherever you like and as often as you like. So do let us know how you found the DVD and the extras, and tell us your stories about any screenings you hold. You can see the film here on Vimeo in its entirety, you can read a review of the film here, and you can order copies of it here.
Thank you!
